ART ALLIANCE OF IDYLLWILD – CALL FOR ENTRIES

Each year the Alliance puts on a series of events for its artist members. These include:

The “Eye”: A fund-raiser for the Alliance and its scholarship fund. Artists donate works that are then offered in an opportunity drawing. The proceeds go to fund artist events and scholarships. By donating work, artists are exempt from hanging fees for the rest of the year’s shows.

For 2008: Deadline for applications is February 22. Event occurs on Saturday, March 1 at the Rainbow Inn. There is no fee to enter your donation. All work must be hand-delivered to the staging point. Call 866 439-5278 for further information.

Members’ Show: Alliance artists display their work in this annual event. All work must be hand-delivered to the staging point and picked up from the exhibit area at the end of the show.

For 2008: This event occurs on May 2,3. Work to be entered must be delivered to the staging site on Wednesday, April 30 from 2 - 6 pm. Awards in Representational, Abstract, 3-D, Photography plus Artist Choice and Community Favorite. Hanging fee of $20; fee is waived for a donation to the “Eye” event. For more information, call 866 439-5278. Reception for the artists and announcement of awards on Friday, May 2.

Juried Show: The work of Alliance artists is judged by a professional juror and prizes are awarded The work must be hand-delivered to the staging area and then picked up at the end of the show from the exhibit area.

For 2008: Event dates are July 4,5. Work to be entered must be delivered to the staging area on Thursday, June 26 from 2 - 6 pm. Hanging fee of $20; fee is waived for a donation to the “Eye” event. Plein Air Art Festival: Alliance artists create work in the streets of Idyllwild, then display their works at a Sunday morning reception.

For 2008: Entries are limited and the deadline for applications is August 15, 2008. Event dates are September 5,6. Fee is $20. For more information, call 866 439-5278. Reception for the artist and announcement of awards on Sunday, September 7, 2008.
