Events in Idyllwild
First Saturdays are major art events in Idyllwild from March through December. That's when art openings, painting festivals, art-walks, and art-tours happen.
Sunday Morning Art Cafés from May to October offer an opportunity for artists to discuss process and interact with art lovers in a casual setting in the galleries.

- March 1 “First Saturday” Gallery Walk - Gallery Openings
- April 5 "First Saturday” The Box and the Eye - Artists create boxes for opportunity drawing. Fundraiser held at Rush Hall on the Idyllwild Arts Campus 7 p.m.
- May 2, 3, 4 “First Saturday” Open Studio Tour, Events include panel discussion May 3, Open studios and artist reception May 3, People’s Choice awards and Sunday Morning Art Café May 4.
- June 7 “First Saturday” Incredible Edible Art Tour in the Galleries. Artist plate is ticket to specialties by local restaurants. Gallery openings.

- • June 15, 22, 29 - A different gallery hosts this educational event each Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..

- • July 6: Artists from the Members Show - Meet the winners from the 54th Annual Art Alliance Members’ Show
- • July 13,20, 27 – A different gallery hosts this casual experience with artists each Sunday from 9:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m.
August 2 “First Saturday” Gallery Walk

September 6, 7 “First Saturday” “2nd Annual Plein Air Painting Festival”

- • September 7: People’s choice awards for Plein Air Festival at champagne reception. On the porch at the Creekstone Inn
- • September 14, 21, 28 Discover a new creative approach from local artists from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Sunday.
October 4 “First Saturday” “6th Annual Art Walk and Wine Tasting” Stroll the streets of Idyllwild with your wine glass, the ambiance of live music and special exhibits in every gallery.
