Art Alliance of Idyllwild Calendar of Events
The second Saturday of select months during season is a major art event in Idyllwild from March through October. That's
when art openings, painting festivals, art-walks, and gallery tours happen. Saturday Morning Art Cafés from June to
September offer an opportunity for artists to discuss process and interact with art lovers in a casual setting in the galleries.
Detailed information about each event will appear on the Shows page approximately one month before the event.

The financial age of our country, requires we learn new skills and venues in order to support
and promote our work. The Art Alliance is fortunate to have Ktya Wialliamson, MFA, who
specializes in the skills necessary to research and write effective grants.

On Monday, November 7, Katya who has worked as an Arts Consultant for individual artists
of all disciplines to successfully fund their art through grants and promotion of their work, will
be teaching members of the Aliance to develop and hone their own abilities in the following
areas:

1. LEARN HOW TO RESEARCH ARTISTS' GRANTS
2. BEGIN YOUR OWN GRANTSWRITING
3. ASSESS YOUR GOALS FOR PROMOTING YOUR ART
4. DISCOVER ACCESS TO LISTS OF FUND RAISING INSTITUTIONS FOR ARTISTS
NATIONWIDE AND REGIONALLY

Katya Williamson founded and directed the Artists' Coopertive in Connecticut that facilitated
artists' careers including those hired by the foundation itself. The American Council for the
Arts in New York City funded Katya to write a "how to" book about the process in order to
share the information with other artists and art organizations.

Upon arriving in California, Ms. Williamson was the Executive Director of a non-profit arts
organization in Venice, Ca and was a Public Arts Administrator/Consultant for four cities in
the Southern California
area.

Recently, O-Books in England published Katyas' book "Bringing the Soul Back Home:
Writing in the New Consciousness." Katya teaches writing in England, The Western United
States and Hawaii. She has led writing retreats at Spirit Mountain in Idyllwild, Ca.
